by mistake i gave wrong information in UK visa form

• I am from India, I applied for UK student visa on 11 sep,2008, there was one column in visa form which asked , if this is my first passport, I wrote yes.
  
  Unfortunately this was my 2nd passport, in my first passport my surname was missing, so i had to publish in newspapers and gazette of india for change of surname, and after that i got new booklet of my passprt
  
  the problem is, it is written on new passport that this is an extended copy, i am really worried i don't know wht to do?
  
  suggest me something, Do u think it can lead to rejection of my visa?
